Tesco FareShare
Did you know that if you attend any of the services that we provide, you may be eligible to receive a free food parcel with food that is donated to us from Tesco?
We have signed up to FareShare who estimate that 1.9 million tonnes of food is wasted every year, they aim to redistribute food that would otherwise go into landfill, and last year FareShare redistributed enough food for 28.6 million meals!
The food available is good quality food that can no longer be sold. This could be because it has damaged packaging or a short shelf life. This doesn’t have an impact on the standard or safety of the food items available. Food available often includes bread, eggs and fresh fruit. It will always be within its use by date and good to eat.
We collect the produce from Tesco and then make up food parcels for families who want to participate and depending on what food is included we will then search for a simple nutritious recipe to give you inspiration and for you to try if you want to have a go.
