Stay and Play at SPLICE Child and Family Support Project

Our Stay and Play sessions provide opportunities for children and their parents/carers to socialise in a safe, informal and friendly setting. We hold the session every Monday morning during term time at 10.00am until 11.30am and keep the cost as low as possible at only £3.00 per family. The children receive good quality play opportunities planned by our qualified and experienced staff in a stimulating environment where their development needs are taken into account depending on their ages and stages of development.

We welcome Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Carers and Childminders to come along and spend some quality playtime without the distraction from normal homelife. The sessions are just as important for the adults as they are for the children and parents/carers have the opportunity to meet with other adults and are able to swap parenting tips, shopping tips or just talk about what you have been watching on tele!

Loneliness and isolation when looking after young children is very common and we would urge you to try and take that step and come along , we are sure that you will be pleasantly surprised!

You may be experiencing a lack of confidence and feel anxious about coming along but we at SPLICE fully understand that you may be feeling nervous about attending the group for the first time and we would encourage you to get in contact with us to discuss your concerns, we can also arrange for a member of staff to meet you at the door and accompany you inside. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive and friendly group who welcomes newcomers and we will help you and your child to feel comfortable.

Remember that lots of people who attend have felt the same as you when they first came and they will go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. You will be giving yourself the opportunity to forge new friendships that can continue outside of the group and may even last a lifetime.
